IoT concept is based on end-point units which require performing simple or complex tasks with limitation of price, power  consumption, package size and performance.
Maximizing the device utilization is a key factor to achieve advantage over competitor´s solutions and be able to store  more functionality in small FPGA.
The course teaches how to develop IoT solutions using Altera MAX 10 non-volatile FPGA, which equipped with on-chip  memory, DSP blocks, ADC, temperature sensor, on-chip Flash with dual configurations capability, on-chip regulator, NIOS II, and DDR interface.
The course starts with an overview of IoT end-point design requirements, and then explains how to use MAX 10 to develop IoT solution, hardware-software partitioning design consideration to achieve the best utilization.
The course combines 60% theory with 40% practical work. The practical lab demonstrate IoT application development with sensor, ADC, digital FIR filter, NIOS II, and low power control.

1. Define what IoT end-point design considerations are required
2. Understand how MAX10 can be used for IoT based systems
3. Use MAX10 unique features (ADC, NIOS II, Low power, on-chip Flash, RAM and DSP) to build IoT system
4. Analyze hardware and software efficiency in order to remove design bottlenecks
